Latitude is an open-source prompt engineering platform designed to help users build, evaluate, and refine their AI prompts with confidence. It offers a comprehensive prompt management system that allows for easy creation and iteration of prompts, which can be integrated seamlessly using SDKs or APIs. The platform supports collaborative prompt development, enabling teams to work together from an intuitive interface.

Latitude includes features such as dynamic prompts, which allow for the addition of parameters or custom logic to support advanced use cases, and reusable snippets to avoid repetition by referencing shared guidelines or context. Prompt chains can be set up from a single document without the need for coding, and version control is built-in to manage drafts and track changes automatically.

The platform leverages AI to suggest improvements based on evaluation results, and it can generate synthetic datasets to facilitate prompt evaluations. Users can run evaluations to check for various metrics like hallucinations, accuracy, compliance, and conciseness, and these can be conducted in batch mode using either production or synthetic logs. Performance monitoring is automated, and human evaluations can be invited to double-check AI assessments.

Latitude also comes with a library of over 20 evaluation templates that can be used as-is or customized. Every prompt run is logged with its entire context, output, and relevant metadata for thorough evaluations and debugging. Users have the option to self-host or utilize the free Hobby tier, which includes up to 40,000 prompt and evaluation runs per month.
