Frogmouth

Frogmouth is a terminal-based Markdown viewer and browser developed by Textualize. It is designed to open Markdown files both locally and via URLs, providing a familiar browser-like experience within the terminal. The tool supports navigation stacks, history, bookmarks, and a table of contents, making it easy to manage and browse Markdown documents.

Frogmouth is compatible with Linux, macOS, and Windows, requiring Python 3.8 or above. Users can install Frogmouth using pipx, pip, or Homebrew, ensuring flexibility in setup. Once installed, the application can be launched by typing frogmouth followed by the path to a Markdown file. Navigation within Frogmouth can be performed using either the mouse or keyboard, with tab and shift+tab facilitating control transitions.

A notable feature of Frogmouth is its ability to load README files directly from GitHub repositories using the gh command. This functionality extends to the app's address bar, enhancing its utility for developers and users who frequently interact with GitHub-hosted documentation. For further assistance, users can access the help section within the app by pressing F1.
