CopilotKit (feat. CoAgents)

CopilotKit is an open-source framework designed to integrate AI Copilots and AI Agents into React applications, boasting over 12,000 stars on GitHub. It enables React and Full-Stack engineers to become AI engineers, offering a streamlined approach to building production-grade AI Copilots with extensive customizability to meet various enterprise needs.

The framework simplifies the addition of AI Copilots into applications through components such as <CopilotSidebar />, <CopilotPopup />, and <CopilotPanel />, or via a headless UI variant using useCopilotChat(). It grounds AI Copilots in real-time, user-specific context, allowing them to take actions on behalf of users with functions like useCopilotReadable and useCopilotAction.

The latest feature, CoAgents, introduces frontend infrastructure for LangGraph AI agents, enabling seamless integration of LangChain and LangGraph agents. This allows end-users to steer agents back on track using CopilotKit’s CoAgents infrastructure.

Additional features include Generative UI for rendering custom React components inside the chat, Guardrails for safe and predictable AI actions, and useCopilotChatSuggestions for providing chat suggestions. The CopilotTextarea offers AI-enabled text editing, including autocompletions, insertions, edits, and auto-first drafts, serving as a drop-in replacement for any <textarea />.
